At the tender age of 45 I am learning to play the Mandolin. My husband purchased this beautiful instrument for me last Christmas. I shared with him the wonderful memories of my childhood in Chattanooga, Tennessee where we would go to Signal Mountain on Saturday evenings and listen to people pick, grin, dance and just absorb the harmony of good ole' country music!
As I got older and moved to Florida, it seemed I was always looking for a little piece of home. When I would hear the sweet magic of the mandolin, I could close my eyes and be back home!
Taking music lessons in adult life seems to be more challenging but I have made a commitment to myself not to miss a lesson. I have also told my instructor on some lesson days that I would be paying for a practice because I did not find time in between our sessions to do my homework! Luckily, he totally understands and has been very supportive! It is to easy to quit so I am determined!
